Mission Festival on Sunday, May 1, 4-7 p.m. Â
Plan to spend an interesting and informative late afternoon with Pr. David and Carla as they tell us of their experiences as missionaries in Slovakia and Eastern Europe for 5 years. They will share stories, pictures, food, along with displays and music. You won’t want to miss this event! More information coming soon.

Summer Day Camp is coming in June!
Immanuel Lutheran is partnering with Mt. Cross Lutheran Outdoor Ministries to offer a Day Camp the week of June 13-17th. This dynamic ministry is for all Bay Area children old enough to enter kindergarten, through those entering 6th grade.
Trained Summer Staff from Mt. Cross will lead programs that "go beyond Vacation Bible School" Monday - Thursday 9am - 3pm and Friday from 9 am - noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Los Altos, 1715 Grant Rd., Los Altos, 94024, 650-967-4906.
Details:
Children attending K - 6th grades.
All forms must be completed to participate.
Bring sunscreen, a water bottle and lunch.
Children will be given a T-Shirt, mid-morning snacks and they will participate in active Bible encounters, crafts, games, songs... and will be provided the necessary supplies to have a whole lot of fun... in a completely camp fashion!
Monday-Thursday from 9am to 3pm Day Camp,
Thursday 6pm to 8pm Evening Potluck/ice cream social and the performance of camp songs.
Friday 9am to noon "water day"
Cost: $120 10% discount for members of a family.

EASTER EGG HUNT and FAMILY FUN DAY

Lenten Schedule Midweek Lenten Soup Suppers and Worship Services
All are invited to these opportunities for fellowship and enrichment on Wednesday evenings during Lent: March 16, 23, 30, April 6, and 13. Each evening’s events will run from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Soup Suppers, 6:00-7:00 p.m.: Bring your favorite pot of soup to share. If you don’t have time to make soup, bread and salad are always appreciated. Even if you can’t be there at 6:00, arrive whenever you can between 6-7pm to enjoy the meal. Lenten Services, 7:00-7:30 p.m.: Midweek services are a chance to pray, sing, and focus our busy lives each week during this season. As a highlight of these services, Pastor David, together with our confirmation and high school youth, will lead us in a faith exercise based on the Psalms. Its aim is to help us be quiet, meditate, grow, pray, and celebrate. Five areas of our faith life will be covered. The remaining area is: -Thanksgiving Each service will last about 1/2 hour (7:00-7:30 p.m.), and is designed for all ages. Come and be renewed!
Choir rehearsal begins immediately following the evening service.

Health Kits for the Homeless: Members of our Social Ministry Committee are collecting items for Health Kits for the homeless in the month of January. Immanuel continues to participate in this ecumenical Alpha Omega Health Kit Project along with eleven other local churches in Los Altos and Mountain View. The much-needed kits are distributed through the Community Services Agency located in Mountain View. This month we will collect items for 20 kits for men, 10 kits for women, 2 for boys and 2 for girls. Our committee will provide baskets in the Fellowship Hall, where you can deposit the following items that are needed. Please note the sizes of the toiletries listed (we cannot use the small hotel-size items for this purpose). Thank you for your support! If you prefer to make a monetary donation for this purpose, please make checks out to Immanuel and write “Alpha Omega” on the Memo line. Please take this list with you when you’re shopping or take one of the flyers at the Social Ministry table in the Fellowship Hall and bring all donations to church by Sunday, January 31, 2010. Bible Talk-Back This group meets Saturday afternoons from 5-6 pm in the Library. We respect your time so we start and end on time. Just bring your bible and your point of view.
The Bible Talk Back group is currently takng break during the month of December. Join us again after the New Year.
