Rummage Sale: POSTPONED until September

Immanuel’s rummage sale is a way for the youth to supplement the cost of many of their activities, including their mission trip. Support our youth by cleaning out those closets and garage and bring your unwanted clothing, books, kids toys, house wares, sporting goods, etc., to church. All items will be stored in the Youth room until setup begins the week of the sale.

Joseph Stroud Piano Recital: June 22 @ 3:00 PM

Joseph Stroud will be giving a senior piano recital at Immanuel on Sat., June 22 at 3:00 p.m. All are invited. Joseph was a student of Lucia Grechi throughout most of his childhood. For the last five years he has studied with Heidi Hau of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Joseph has been a member of the Mountain View High School Madrigals, their traveling a capella choir, for the last four years. He will be attending Boston College in the fall. Joseph’s repertoire will include J.S. Bach’s “Italian Concerto”, Beethoven’s “Sonata No. 3 in C Major”, and Chopin’s “Ballade No. 3 in A flat Major”.

Marathon Bach Fundraiser – Albany Consort – Saturday June 29, 1-6 PM

Not your average concert, but part jam session, part social event, and a chance to hear beautiful music in an informal setting and enjoy refreshments provided by local food vendors including Peet’s Coffee, Trader Joe’s and Country Gourmet.  On Saturday June 29, sixteen members of the Albany Consort, including four harpsichordists, join together for a marathon Bach fundraiser event, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.

The Albany Consort provides the music, generous local businesses provide the food – and now we need you to make this a success.  Come for a short time or as long as you like, feast your senses, and support Immanuel Lutheran’s concert series.  Donations go towards the next season’s program, helping to bring more music into Immanuel’s beautiful space.

You will hear Bach’s amazing Concerto for Four Harpsichords, his lovely Double Violin Concerto and four of his Brandenburg Concertos.  And Telemann’s Triple Violin Concerto, Haydn’s Cello Concerto and Dittersdorf’s Concerto for Double Bass.  And more.  All expertly played by favorite Bay Area musicians including Jonathan Salzedo, Marion Rubinstein, Katherine Heater, Maria Brodsky (harpsichords), David Wilson, Natalie Carducci, Clio Tilton and David Bowes (violins/violas), Amy Brodo (cello) and Millie Martin (double bass).

Tickets are $25 (general), $15 (church members) – but no one is ever turned away from Immanuel Concerts for lack of funds.  Give what you can to support this community venture, but most important, be there and enjoy this special afternoon.
