Education for Adults at Immanuel
The Gathering Hour (Sundays between the worship services): In 2009, topics included study of The Psalms, discussion of "The Bishop's Statement" from "The Lutheran," the Social Ministry Committee led the discussion of some of the ELCA Social Statements, Pastor Marcus explored the “Red Hymnal,” the Vision, Evangelism and Call Committees presented and gathered ideas, Free to Be curriculum and Faith Incubators were used, and special topics such as The Magnificat and The Apostle’s Creed were read and appreciated.
Saturday Bible Study (“Bible Talk-Back”): This enthusiastic meets on Saturdays from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM. They began with Galatians and are now moving on to Philippians as a source of inspiration in 2010.
Immanuel Reads: This is Immanuel's book group. We started in 2009. Our first book was The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss and an upcoming book discussion is scheduled to discuss An American In Ghandi’s India by Asha Sharma.
